The best music for dancing at the birth place of Rio’s samba

Caramuela band leads the new “forro” circle in town, bringing hundreds of people to each event. The party takes place at Pedra do Sal, a historic site that witnessed the birth of Rio’s samba, as well as the creation of music by artists such as Donga, Cartola and João da Baiana, who made their names in the side streets of Morro da Conceição.

Caramuela band mixes “xote”, “xaxado”, “forró”, “maracatu”, “ciranda”, samba and salsa in their music. Their repertoire comes from a serious research effort by the band, and it include many different hits, such as classic tunes by Gonzagão and more recent sounds. Don’t miss this great party, or the special participation that is a sure presence in each edition.
