Two-way tickets on July 25th and 26th available for sale with special pass only

Pilgrims coming to the Welcoming and Via Sacra events taking place on July 25th and 26 July, in Copacabana beach, during the World Youth Day events can now prepare and choose the best time of day to be on their way. MetrôRio has special passes for the two events attended by Pope Francis.

Ticket sales take place daily until the 17th, from 9am to 9pm, in ticket offices at Pavuna, Del Castilho, Maracaã, Saens Peña, Praça Onze, Central, Carioca, Glória, Flamengo, Botafogo and Siqueira Campos subway stations. From July 18th to 24th, passes will be on sale at Pavuna, Maracanã, Praça Onze, Central, Carioca and Glória subway stations. For departure trips, users can choose between seven schedules, all from 12 noon to 7pm. Return trips have no specific scheduled and can be taken from 7pm to 5am, and users must possess valid special passes. One-way way tickets also available.

During the World Youth Day, (both days of the event, 12 noon to 5am) no other types of passes will be considered valid. Passes will be sold for R$ 3.20 (one way) and R$ 6.40 (roundtrip).Passengers entitled to free tickets will have access to 13 thousand units. Special needs or people over 65 old must go to one of the specially designated offices for retrieval of the tickets.
