Duel of aces in the sands of Copacabana

For the third consecutive year, the sands of Copacabana host the Footvolley 4x4 Championship. On March 9th and 10th, some of the biggest superstars in the world of footvolley gather at the arena across from Copacabana Palace Hotel. Admission to the games is free. Eight teams will be fighting for the title, two of which will be representing Brazil.

The team led by Renato Gaúcho is the current champion, and the favorite to win this year’s cup. But to get there, Gaúcho’s team will have to beat the teams from Paraguay, Uruguay, Spain, Portugal, Argentina and Italy, as well as Brazil’s team B, led by team captain, Djalminha.

This is also an opportunity to see former superstars back in action. Amongst the foreign captains are Argentine Claudio Caniggia, Italian Fabio Grosso and Paraguayan Gamarra. The latter is an old acquaintance to the fans of Flamengo and Corinthians.
